Vitamin A

Like all vitamins that are important for the overall health of the body, vitamin A also has a vital role to play in the upkeep of good health. Vitamin A is especially required for the retina of the eyes for maintaining good eye sight. It also helps in keeping the skin looking youthful. There are different ways in which vitamin A can be effectively included in our diet. The acai berry is one of the most effective sources of vitamin A. It has a rich supply of many vitamins and minerals. It also has chemicals that act as antioxidants which are helpful in rejuvenating the skin. Antioxidants consumed through our regular diet are one of the best ways to keep our skin beautiful and looking youthful.

Vitamin A can be consumed directly by eating acai berry but acai products prepared from the berry are also rich sources of vitamin A. Acai juices that are liked by the young and old alike are available. These could be consumed for getting a regular dose of vitamin A. Supplements and pills made from Acai berry can also supply vitamin A to the body. It is however advisable to go for an expert opinion while deciding on the particular brands for the best supplements and pills for vitamin A.

Eggs and cheese that we normally add to our diet are also good sources of vitamin A. Since most of us consume these foods as part of our normal diet, it is easy to use them as a good source for the vitamin. It would also be easy to make children get adequate amounts of vitamin A through their normal diet instead of forcing them to take pills and other supplements. Carrots for example are also good sources of vitamin A, as they contain beta-carotene which is a precursor of vitamin A in an inactive form. Vitamin A can also be found in spinach, sweet potatoes, pumpkin and apricots.

Other good dietary sources of vitamin A include capsicum pepper, green turnips, parsley, cucumbers and Brussels. These help in good eye sight and support cell growth in the body. Mangoes, sweet potatoes and apricots that are rich in vitamin A strengthen our immune system. Foods like margarine, eggs, cheese, butter and chilies also provide vitamin A to the body and help protect our teeth and bones. With so many foods through which we can get vitamin A, it is extremely easy to maintain good eye sight and health for the whole body.
