Vitamin B17 - Leatrile - Amygdalin
When we talk about vitamin B17 we are not talking about just one vitamin. We are referring to a number of water soluble, sugary and non toxic compounds. They are found in around 800 plants, most of them being edible. The richest known source of vitamin B17 (also known under the name of laetrile) is apricot kernels, which are known to help in both curing and preventing cancer. Most fruit seeds contain laetrile. This includes nectarine, apricot, cherry, orange, peach and apple. You will also find good quantities of vitamin B17 in wheat grass.
Contrary to popular belief, the seeds of the fruits are actually of great nutritional values. The best example can be given in the peach. The middle of the seed must not be thrown away (as most people end up doing). Seeds are very important in different cultures around the world including the Abkhasians, the Hunzas and the Navajo Indians. There is not even one member of these tribes that had to fight cancer. This says a lot about their nutritional intake. Keep in mind that making the seed one of the main courses of our meal is a bad idea but by simply consuming around 7 apricot seeds daily we are faced with a better chance of fighting cancer on the long run. Contrary to what a lot of people think, seeds contain the highest concentration of vitamin B17 possible in all foods.
We recommend that whenever you eat fruits you should eat the seeds as well. It is not really a good idea to take out the seeds of, let’s say, 20 apples and then only eat the seeds. The fruits also have valuable nutrients for our bodies and we must not avoid eating fruits. In fact, fruits and vegetables are highly important in a well rounded diet.
Vitamin B17 is also included in many vitamin supplements on the market, especially those that are based on water soluble vitamins. In most situations taking a daily supplement that contains all necessary nutrients is the best way to make sure that you have enough vitamins in your nutrition plan, including vitamin B17. In this way you will gain better health thanks to all the benefits that are associated with every single B vitamin. To make everything even better, most multi vitamin supplements also include minerals and other essential nutrients that you need to have in the right quantities in your diet.
