Vitamin P - Rutin for Blood Vessels

Vitamin P is not widely heard about although it does offer some important benefits for the human body that should be taken into account. You should know that it is also known as bioflavonoids and we are basically talking about substances that aid us in staying active and healthy.

Vitamin P is available in different citrus fruits. It plays a very important role in aiding us absorb vitamin C properly. We can also mention that we are faced with affecting the blood condition in a positive way. This is because vitamin P helps us keep blood platelets and red blood cells separated. Capillary health is promoted by the action of the nutrient and this can easily prevent a condition known as capillary bleeding. Any person that is known to suffer from bleeding gums should consider taking an increase of vitamin P because it will help blood vessels to heal. Our gums present weak blood vessels and they are easily damaged. Vitamin P can protect them to some extent in the sense that any damage we see will show a faster speed of healing.

Vitamin P also interacts with our immune system in the sense that it can boost it. Contrary to what you might have heard, this nutrient is actually essential when talking about gaining a stronger natural body defense base against infections and viruses. We are also talking about an anti-inflammatory agent that is natural and can even act as a simple and natural diuretic. Different studies have also shown that vitamin P has a positive impact on people that suffer from allergies, ulcers, hypertension or have problems with wound healing.

The really good news is that you can easily put vitamin P sources inside your nutrition plan. The best examples possible can be given in citrus fruits, which are widely available at most supermarkets out there and even cheap in some locations. You can even use citrus fruit pulp in baking. Contrary to what you might have heard, this will not destroy the quantities of vitamin P present. You can also consider prunes and grapes as they are also great sources of vitamin P. Talking strictly about vegetables the one that is always recommended is spinach.

The problem with vitamin P is that there are some substances that can actually drain it from our body. The worst one stands in smoking and then we have alcohol on the list. People that take aspirin might also be affected by vitamin P deficiency.
